Apr 12, 2025
Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has successfully commissioned a 600 kWp rooftop solar power plant at its warehouse facility in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, as part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability. Installed across 56,000 sq. ft., the grid-connected solar installation is expected to generate over 7.5 lakh units of solar energy annually, contributing significantly to the company’s green energy adoption.
The initiative is projected to yield annual electricity savings of more than INR 50 lakh, while reducing the company’s environmental impact by an amount equivalent to preserving over 10,000 trees every year. The system will leverage optimal solar exposure with around five hours of daily sunlight to maximize energy output.
Sandeep Jain, Managing Director and Founder of Akums, stated, “The successful commissioning of our rooftop solar power plant is a significant step towards our path to sustainability. This project will assist in lowering energy expenses, reducing our carbon footprint, and promoting a greener tomorrow.”
With this development, Akums Drugs reaffirms its dedication to clean energy and environmental stewardship, aligning its operations with India’s broader sustainability and decarbonization goals.
