MNRE Awards Rs9700 Crore Under SIGHT Scheme for Green Hydrogen and Electrolyser Manufacturing

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has allocated approximately Rs9700 crore under the SIGHT scheme to support green hydrogen production and electrolyser manufacturing in India.
Among the beneficiaries, AM Green Group secured the highest allocation of Rs1767 crore, with its GW-scale green ammonia plant in Kakinada expected to be India’s largest by 2027. ACME Group is also advancing green hydrogen projects, with its Oman plant set to be one of the first GW-scale facilities developed by an Indian company.
Reliance Industries Limited received Rs1314 crore for both green hydrogen production and electrolyser manufacturing. Waaree Group, known for its solar success, has been awarded Rs954 crore for green hydrogen initiatives. Larsen & Toubro and GH2 Solar also secured funding for hydrogen production and electrolyser development.
Hygenco, a green hydrogen-focused company, received Rs563 crore in incentives. With these allocations, 2025 and 2026 are expected to be pivotal years for India’s green hydrogen sector, accelerating the transition towards a hydrogen-based economy.
