Leh Airport to Become India’s First Geothermal & Solar-Powered Airport

Leh Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport is set to become India's first airport to operate on both geothermal and solar energy, aligning with Ladakh’s carbon-neutral vision. With a Rs650 crore investment, the upcoming terminal will significantly reduce carbon emissions and water consumption, making it a model for sustainable aviation infrastructure.

- 457 borewells (350 ft deep) for underfloor heating & cooling.
- Zero carbon emissions and no water usage.

- 500 kW rooftop solar panels installed.
