MES Invites Bids for 1.1 MW Rooftop Solar Installation at Rangapahar Military Station in Nagaland

The Military Engineer Services (MES), Eastern Command, Shillong Zone, has issued a tender for the installation of rooftop solar systems totaling 1,100 kW at Rangapahar Military Station in Nagaland. The bid submission deadline is May 22, 2025, with the opening scheduled for May 24. The project, estimated to cost Rs7.285 crore, will involve solar systems ranging from 14 kW to 75 kW in capacity.
The scope includes complete design, procurement, testing, installation, and commissioning of the rooftop systems, as well as integration with the site’s planned electrical system. The contract also includes a five-year comprehensive maintenance phase covering system performance, defect liability, and SCADA system upkeep.
Eligible bidders must provide an earnest money deposit of ?689,300. A 5% performance bank guarantee must be furnished within 28 days of receiving the Letter of Acceptance. MES-enlisted contractors must be Class 'A' or higher, while non-enlisted bidders must meet Class 'A' criteria under the MES Manual of Contracts 2020.
Bidders must have relevant experience with solar installations for government or public sector clients within the past seven years, fulfilling one of three criteria based on minimum project sizes (60 kW, 37.5 kW, or 30 kW per project).
The project must be completed within 270 days, excluding the maintenance phase.
This tender follows other MES solar initiatives, including recent bids for O&M services in Rajasthan and maintenance work on a 1 MW project in Bambolim, Goa.
