RMC Switchgears Secures INR 320 Crore Contract for 50 MW Rooftop Solar Projects in Rajasthan

Mar 17, 2025

RMC Switchgears Ltd., a Jaipur-based electrical and solar solutions provider, has secured a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the Government of Rajasthan for the installation of 50 MW of rooftop solar systems across state government buildings in Jaipur and Dausa. The contract, valued at INR 320 crore, also includes a 25-year operation and maintenance (O&M) agreement.

Under this project, RMC Switchgears will be responsible for the design, supply, erection, and commissioning of the rooftop solar installations, which will be deployed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM)—a model ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

The project comprises a one-time EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) revenue of INR 229 crore, while the O&M services over 25 years will generate an additional INR 91 crore, resulting in a total contract value of INR 320 crore.

Statement from CEO

Commenting on the development, Ankit Agrawal, CEO & Whole-Time Director of RMC Switchgears Ltd., said:

"This LoA marks a significant step in RMC’s expansion within the solar EPC space and aligns with Rajasthan’s ambitious clean energy transition. The project underscores our capability to deliver large-scale, sustainable solutions while reinforcing our investment in solar module manufacturing for efficient execution and long-term value creation."

This initiative is part of Rajasthan’s larger goal to power all state government buildings with solar energy, reducing dependency on conventional power sources and promoting sustainability. By securing this contract, RMC Switchgears strengthens its footprint in the renewable energy sector, contributing to India’s national solar targets.

The project is expected to significantly enhance energy efficiency, lower carbon emissions, and provide a steady revenue stream for RMC through its long-term O&M commitment.
