Solar Module Capacity Under ALMM Reaches 63,027 MW with New Additions
Dec 27, 2024
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, raising the total manufacturing capacity under ALMM to 63,027 MW. The latest additions to the provisional list contribute 4,277 MW of annual production capacity, further boosting India's solar manufacturing capabilities.
New Additions to the ALMM List:
- Australian Premium Solar: +262 MW
- Redren Energy: +400 MW
- Mundra Solar Energy (Adani): +2,125 MW
- Icon Solar En Power Technologies: +600 MW
- FS Green Energies: +572 MW
- ADM Solar Power & Infrastructure: +580 MW
Earlier this year, the MNRE also revised its guidelines for the inspection and final enlistment of provisional manufacturers. Under the new guidelines, the final enlistment process must be completed within two months from the application date, ensuring quicker integration of qualified manufacturers.
The ALMM requires all listed solar modules to meet the Bureau of Indian Standards and specific minimum efficiency criteria. For silicon-based utility-scale modules, the efficiency must be at least 20%, while cadmium telluride thin-film modules must achieve a minimum efficiency of 19%. These stringent requirements ensure high-quality, efficient products are used in India’s growing solar projects.
