May 07, 2025
The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRCL) has floated a tender to install a 5 MW rooftop solar project across its metro stations, depots, and other operational sites. Bids must be submitted by May 30, 2025, and will be opened on May 31. The project, valued at Rs20.42 crore , includes design, engineering, surveys, erection, testing, commissioning, and 25 years of O&M.
Interested bidders must submit an EMD of Rs0.40 crore and a tender fee of Rs23,600. They must also have an average annual turnover of Rs8.16 crore over the last five years and a net worth of at least Rs2.042 crore. The winning bidder will have 24 months from the award date to complete the project, failing which a 10?ily liquidated damage on project cost will be levied.
The tender is open to both domestic and international entities, including consortiums. This follows UPMRCL’s earlier 1 MW RESCO-model solar project in Agra and aligns with similar initiatives by Delhi and Mumbai Metro systems. The tender reflects the growing push to integrate clean energy into India’s urban transportation networks.
