UPNEDA Invites Bids for 2 MW Hybrid Rooftop Solar Projects with Battery Backup
Mar 21, 2025
The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued a tender for the implementation of 11 kW to 50 kW on-grid hybrid rooftop solar projects with battery backup across multiple government buildings in Uttar Pradesh. The tentative capacity of the project is 2 MW, with an estimated cost of Rs44 crore.
The deadline for bid submission is March 28, 2025, with the opening scheduled for March 29. Bidders must submit a tender fee of Rs11,800 plus GST and an earnest money deposit of 2% of the project cost. Selected bidders will also need to pay a 5% performance security.
The scope of work includes design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning, along with five years of operations and maintenance (O&M), extendable for another five years. The project will require module structures, inverters, batteries, cabling, lightning arrestors, earthing systems, and remote monitoring. The battery capacity per unit must be 3,840 kWh.
Bidders must have:
- A minimum annual average turnover of Rs13.2 crore in the best three years of the last five financial years.
- Experience installing 600 kW of rooftop solar projects in the last five years.
- A positive net worth in the previous financial year.
They can apply as individual entities, joint ventures (JVs), or consortiums. The selected bidders must obtain approvals from UPPCL, DISCOMs, and the electrical inspectorate and use solar modules and cells from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM). The project must be completed within four months of the work order issuance.
In January 2025, UPNEDA’s revised tender for supplying 3,205 MW of solar power to UPPCL under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Component C2 was approved by the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission.
