ACME Solar Aims for 7 GW Operational Capacity by FY28

Aug 13, 2025

Gurugram-based ACME Solar Holdings plans to have its full 6,970 MW of contracted renewable energy capacity operational by the end of FY28. According to Group CFO Rajat Kumar Singh, the company will commission around 2,000 MW by FY27 and another 2,000 MW by FY28. Work on these projects, including capex allocation and letters of credit, is already underway.

Currently, ACME has operationalised 2,890 MW, with 4,080 MW under construction—mainly firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) projects combining solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) with a 50% plant load factor. The company also has 550 MWh of standalone BESS capacity. For FY26, ACME is eyeing orders worth ?12,000–14,000 crore.

Singh noted that falling battery prices and stabilised solar panel costs will reduce overall project expenses, lower capital expenditure, and decrease debt needs, benefiting the entire sector. ACME also plans early commissioning of BESS for its 2.3 GW under-construction projects, enabling sales in the merchant market during peak demand.

Motilal Oswal projects a 68?ITDA CAGR for ACME between FY25 and FY27. Industry forecasts by ICRA suggest India’s solar capacity will grow strongly, supported by a robust pipeline and favourable solar PV pricing.
