ACME Solar Nears Completion of First Wind Project in Gujarat
Jun 13, 2025
ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has commissioned 46.2 MW of its first wind power project in Shapar, Gujarat, out of the planned 50 MW capacity. After an initial 26.4 MW was brought online in May 2025, an additional 19.8 MW has been operationalized, boosting ACME’s total commissioned renewable capacity to 2,826.2 MW. The final phase is expected to be completed shortly.
The project, located in one of India’s top wind zones, is being developed under a special purpose vehicle, ACME Pokhran, and financed by Power Finance Corporation (PFC). Power from the project is secured under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). ACME is executing the project through its in-house EPC team, which enhances margins and ensures timely delivery.
Electricity from the wind farm is pooled at a 33/220 kV station and transmitted to the Shapar sub-station via a dedicated 220 kV transmission line. The same sub-station will also be used for ACME’s second wind power project, currently under advanced construction. This project marks ACME’s entry into wind energy and reinforces its diversified renewable energy strategy.
