ACME Solar Secures Rs15,000 Crore Debt Funding to Expand Renewable Capacity
Aug 16, 2025
ACME Solar has raised around Rs15,000 crore in debt funding to support its greenfield renewable projects, marking a major step in its expansion strategy. Group CFO Rajat Singh confirmed that the company plans to scale its capacity to 7 GW by 2028, with a long-term goal of reaching 10 GW by 2030. The focus will be on hybrid projects and Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE), enabling consistent clean power supply.
In the first phase, ACME aims to invest Rs15,000–Rs17,000 crore to boost its operational capacity to 5 GW by 2026, from the current 2,890 MW. The company has a roadmap of adding 2,000 MW annually over the next two years. At present, it has 4,080 MW under construction, alongside a 550 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), enhancing grid stability and storage capabilities.
Of this pipeline, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) are already signed for 2,240 MW and the BESS project, while Letters of Award (LoAs) have been issued for another 1,840 MW, with PPAs expected within the next 3–6 months.
This funding strengthens ACME’s position as one of India’s key renewable developers, aligning with the country’s broader clean energy ambitions and increasing the share of reliable green power in the energy mix.
