Adani Commissions 50 MW Solar-Wind Hybrid at Khavda, Expands Renewable Capacity to 15.8 GW

Aug 11, 2025

Adani Renewable Energy Three Ltd., a subsidiary of Adani Green Energy (AGEL), has commissioned a 50 MW solar-wind hybrid power project at Khavda, Gujarat, effective from August 8, 2025. With this, AGEL’s total operational renewable energy capacity has reached 15,865.5 MW.

Khavda is the site of AGEL’s ambitious 30,000 MW renewable energy park, the largest in the world, spanning 538 sq km — about five times the size of Paris — and visible from space. Once complete, it will be the largest power plant globally across all energy sources.

AGEL has been actively securing new contracts. In May 2025, it signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd. (UPPCL) for 400 MW of solar power from Rajasthan at Rs2.57/unit. In April 2025, its subsidiary signed another PPA with UPPCL for 1,250 MW of pumped hydro energy storage.

Operating across 12 states, AGEL develops solar, wind, hybrid, and hydro-pumped storage projects. The company grew operational capacity by 30% in FY25 and aims for 50 GW capacity by 2030, supported by a $3.4 billion revolving construction facility and a growing presence in commercial, industrial, and merchant energy markets.
