Adani Energy Secures Rs 2,800 Cr Gujarat Transmission Project for Green Hydrogen

Mar 25, 2025

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (AESL) has secured a Rs 2,800 crore power transmission project in Gujarat to supply renewable energy for green hydrogen and ammonia production in Mundra. The project, awarded under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) mechanism, was facilitated by PFC Consulting Ltd. and transferred to AESL on March 20, 2025.

The "Transmission System for Green Hydrogen/Ammonia Manufacturing Potential in Mundra" involves upgrading the Navinal (Mundra) electrical substation with two large 765/400kV transformers and constructing a 75 km, 765kV double-circuit transmission line to connect it with the Bhuj substation. This will add 150 circuit kilometers (cKM) of transmission lines and 3,000 MVA of transformation capacity to AESL’s existing infrastructure, increasing its total capacity to 25,928 cKM and 87,186 MVA.

AESL aims to complete the project within 36 months, enhancing Gujarat’s renewable energy network and accelerating India’s transition towards green hydrogen production.
