Adani Energy Solutions Secures Power Transmission Project for Green Hydrogen and Ammonia in Gujarat
Mar 22, 2025
Adani Energy Solutions has won a power transmission project from PFC Consulting to facilitate 3 GW of renewable energy supply for green hydrogen and green ammonia production in Mundra, Gujarat. The project involves upgrading the Navinal (Mundra) substation with two 765/400kV transformers and constructing a 75 km, 765 kV double-circuit transmission line to connect with the Bhuj substation. Estimated at Rs2,800 crore, the project will be completed in 36 months, adding 150 ckm of transmission lines and 3,000 MVA transformation capacity to Adani’s infrastructure.
The tender was floated in October 2024, with competitors including Power Grid Corporation of India and Sterlite Grid 32. The development aligns with India's broader transmission expansion strategy, including PFC Consulting's recent bid invitation for a 4.5 GW renewable energy evacuation project at Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh. In January 2025, Adani also secured REC Power Development’s Rs25,000 crore Bhadla-Fatehpur HVDC transmission project to evacuate 6 GW of renewable energy. These projects are part of India's efforts to strengthen transmission infrastructure and enable large-scale renewable energy integration.
