Airtel Business Champions AI-Driven Smart Energy Management for Efficiency, Compliance, and Sustainability

Apr 05, 2025

Airtel Business, through its IoT division, is reshaping how Indian enterprises manage energy with AI-powered Smart Energy Management solutions, revealed CEO Sharat Sinha in a recent Energetica India interview. The solutions, backed by robust 4G and cloud infrastructure, provide real-time tracking, predictive analytics, and seamless integration—delivering up to 15% cost savings and 20% maintenance cost reduction, while improving productivity by 11%.

These intelligent tools help enterprises comply with frameworks like SEBI's BRSR, streamlining ESG reporting through automated dashboards and audit-ready carbon tracking. Furthermore, Airtel’s platform supports Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) that aggregate and optimize energy from solar, wind, and storage, balancing demand in real-time and enhancing grid stability.

Unlike traditional energy conservation methods that are reactive, Airtel’s AI-powered systems proactively predict and manage consumption, adjusting HVAC, lighting, and other infrastructure dynamically. The platform also enables integration of renewables—monitoring and optimizing solar, wind, and hydropower sources—to reduce grid reliance and emissions.

As energy prices remain volatile due to geopolitical and market factors, Airtel's tools help enterprises forecast demand, implement demand-response strategies, and secure energy supply by incorporating renewables and government incentives.

With these capabilities, Airtel IoT not only enables businesses to lower operational costs and improve resilience, but also supports a broader push toward sustainability and regulatory alignment, positioning itself as a key enabler of India’s energy transition.
