Alpex Solar-NVNR Consortium Secures Rs350 Crore CMPDI EPC Contract for 70 MW Solar Project in Nagpur

May 12, 2025

Alpex Solar, in consortium with NVNR Power & Infra, has won an EPC contract worth Rs350 crore for a 70 MW grid-connected solar power project from Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), a subsidiary of Coal India. The project will be developed at Nandan Washery in the Kanhan Area, Western Coalfields region, Nagpur, Maharashtra. The tender was floated in July 2024 and must be completed within 540 days. Alpex Solar will execute 70% of the order value.

The consortium will handle design, procurement, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning, along with ten years of comprehensive operation and maintenance. Work must begin within 30 days of the letter of acceptance or seven days after site handover.

The project includes constructing a 32 kV double circuit transmission line and two bay extensions. Solar modules must retain 90% peak output by the end of ten years and at least 80% by the 25th year. As the project is meant for captive use across Western Coalfields' load centers via open access, the contractors are tasked with detailed load mapping.

Recently, Alpex Solar also won 97.5 MW of module supply under SECI’s 400 MW domestic content requirement auction, with TP Solar securing 292.2 MW.
