Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Approves Rs 2,723 Crore for Amaravati Projects and Renewable Energy Investments

The Andhra Pradesh cabinet, led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, approved two major engineering projects worth Rs 2,723 crore on Thursday for the development of the greenfield capital city of Amaravati. These include a 1 million tonne per annum (MMTA) green ammonia manufacturing facility and South India's first integrated energy project. Addressing a press conference, Information & Public Relations Minister K Parthasarathy emphasized that while the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) regime "neglected" Amaravati, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government is taking decisive steps to transform the city into a world-class capital. He revealed that the projects will receive financial assistance from global and national institutions such as the World Bank, HUDCO, and Germany, with fresh tenders being called as per their directives.

2. Solar Hybrid and Battery Storage Project
  1. Location: Nandyal and Kadapa districts
  2. Capacity: 119 MW wind + 130 MW solar hybrid energy
  3. Developer: Clean Renewable Energy Hybrid Three Way Ltd
3. 400 MW Solar Energy Facility
  1. Developer: Tata Power Renewable Energy
  2. Investment: Rs 2,000 crore
  3. Employment Generation: 1,380 jobs
4. Compressed Biogas (CBG) Plants by Reliance Industries (RIL)
  1. Capacity: 500 plants with a total of 11,000 tonnes
  2. Investment: Rs 65,000 crore
  3. Employment Generation: 2.5 lakh jobs
