Ather Energy to Double Retail Footprint to 700 Centres by FY26 Amid Rizta’s Sales Surge
Jun 19, 2025
Ather Energy has announced a major expansion of its retail footprint, aiming to scale up to 700 Experience Centres (ECs) across India by FY26—almost doubling from its current 351 ECs. The move follows the massive success of its family-oriented electric scooter, Rizta, which crossed 1 lakh units in retail sales within a year of launch. Rizta now accounts for nearly 60% of Ather’s total sales, helping the company expand in newer geographies including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh.
The Bengaluru-based EV maker currently operates 24 ECs in Nepal and Sri Lanka, with 46% of its India footprint in the southern region. With Rizta gaining traction in North India, Ather plans to triple its store count in northern markets and expand in eastern and western regions as well.
Ather has also ramped up its EV ecosystem with 3,578 fast-charging points under Ather Grid, Gold Service Centres in key cities, and Express Care services offering 60-minute periodic maintenance. It operates two manufacturing plants in Hosur and is developing a third in Bidkin, Maharashtra, which will raise its total production capacity to 1.42 million units annually. The expansion highlights Ather’s aggressive push to capture the growing EV market with a strong consumer and service presence.
