Avaada Group Signs Rs36,000 Crore MoU with Gujarat Government for 5 GW Solar, 1 GW Wind, and 5 GWh BESS Projects

Oct 10, 2025

The Avaada Group, one of India’s leading integrated renewable energy companies, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to invest ?36,000 crore for the development of 5 GW of solar power, 1 GW of wind energy, and 5 GWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across the state.

Under the agreement, the projects will be implemented across the Kutchh, Banaskantha, and Surendranagar districts of Gujarat, with commissioning timelines scheduled between 2027 and 2030. The integrated clean energy portfolio aims to enhance grid reliability by ensuring efficient storage and dispatch of renewable power.

Massive Investment in Gujarat’s Renewable Future

The initiative is expected to generate over 1,000 direct and 2,000 indirect green jobs, while creating employment opportunities for nearly 5,000 people during the construction phase, according to a company statement.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel lauded Avaada’s continued partnership with the state, noting that the company’s new investment marks a major step in Gujarat’s journey toward round-the-clock green power.

“Avaada has been a reliable partner in our renewable journey since its first 40 MW MoU sixteen years ago. Their ?36,000 crore commitment further strengthens our shared vision for sustainable and inclusive growth. The state government will extend full support for speedy implementation,” Patel said.

Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi also praised the initiative, highlighting its role in achieving India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat and Net Zero 2070 goals.

“Avaada’s large-scale investment in solar, wind, and battery storage underlines India’s leadership in clean energy innovation. Projects like these will accelerate our transition to energy independence,” Joshi added.

Avaada’s Vision for Sustainable and Reliable Green Power

Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group, emphasized that the partnership marks a continuation of Avaada’s deep commitment to India’s renewable energy expansion.

“Our renewable journey began with India’s first 15 MWp solar project in Gujarat. This new MoU reaffirms our mission to provide affordable, reliable, and round-the-clock green energy, strengthening India’s energy security while reducing carbon emissions,” Mittal said.

The upcoming projects are designed to deliver firm green power beyond daylight hours, supported by advanced BESS technology. Collectively, they are expected to avoid over 12 million tonnes of CO? emissions annually and save approximately 166 million litres of water through robotic module cleaning systems.

Recent Developments in Gujarat

Avaada Group recently inaugurated a 280 MW solar power project in Surendranagar, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Spread across 1,170 acres in the villages of Tavi and Varsani, the project involved an investment of ?1,500 crore and utilizes Avaada Electro’s Made-in-India TOPCon N-Type bifacial solar PV modules.

PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for Avaada’s 100 MW solar power project in Vadodara, spread over 350 acres with an investment of ?400 crore.

Together, these projects reaffirm Gujarat’s role as a frontrunner in India’s renewable energy transformation and Avaada’s position as a key driver of India’s clean energy revolution.
