Bajel Projects Secures Ultra-Mega Order from PowerGrid for 400kV Transmission Line
Jun 23, 2025
Bajel Projects, a power transmission and infrastructure EPC firm, has secured a major order from PowerGrid Corporation of India (PGCIL) through its Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), MEL Power Transmission. Classified as an ultra-mega order (Rs400 crore and above), the project reinforces Bajel's growing expertise in executing large-scale infrastructure works.
The contract, part of the Transmission Line Package TL01, involves the construction of a new 400kV double-circuit transmission line spanning approximately 138 kilometers. This line will connect the existing Mahan Bus to Rewa Power Station (PG) using Quad ACSR/AAAC/AL59 moose equivalent conductors. The scope also includes extending 400kV substation bay works at Rewa (PG) to facilitate power evacuation from the Mahan Energen generation plant in Madhya Pradesh.
Bajel’s Managing Director and CEO, Rajesh Ganesh, emphasized the strategic importance of this win, calling it a testament to the company’s strong execution capabilities and commitment to strengthening India’s power transmission infrastructure. This order further positions Bajel Projects as a key contributor to the country’s grid expansion and energy reliability initiatives.
