BC Jindal Group Strengthens Renewable Energy Presence with Rs 6,500 Crore Orders in FY26
Oct 14, 2025
New Delhi, 14 October 2025: The BC Jindal Group, a leading Indian business conglomerate with a turnover exceeding Rs 18,000 crore, continues to expand its footprint in the renewable energy sector. In the current financial year (FY26), the group has already secured an order book of Rs 6,500 crore, with additional projects in the pipeline, reflecting strong growth momentum in the sector.
Since entering the renewable energy space in FY25, the group, through its renewable energy subsidiary Jindal India Renewable Energy (JIRE), has won projects totaling 750 MW, representing investments of approximately Rs 8,000 crore. A spokesperson for the BC Jindal Group stated, “We are targeting 5 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, with planned investments of $2.5 billion over the next five years, aligning with the Government of India’s objective of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030.”
To achieve this ambitious target, the BC Jindal Group plans to implement a diversified portfolio, including solar, wind, hybrid, and Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) projects, while simultaneously expanding its operational clean energy assets across India over the next four years. In FY26, JIRE secured 450 MW of renewable energy projects from state-owned entities, including SJVN and the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI). Notably, JIRE won a 300 MW solar-plus-storage project from SJVN, part of a 1,200 MW interstate transmission system-connected solar initiative featuring 600 MW/2,400 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS). Additionally, the company obtained a 150 MW Round-the-Clock (RTC) project from SECI via reverse auction, linked to its 1,200 MW RTC renewable energy tender.
The group’s rapid order wins underscore its credibility and technical expertise in executing large-scale renewable energy projects. In FY25, JIRE also received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for a 300 MW solar-plus-storage project from NHPC, as part of NHPC’s 1,200 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar initiative, which includes 600 MW/1,200 MWh of energy storage. Founded in 1952 by Shri B.C. Jindal, the BC Jindal Group operates across multiple sectors, including packaging films, energy, and steel products, and continues to strengthen its renewable energy business as a key growth driver.
