BlueFloat Energy and Nadara Partner for Floating Wind Turbine Assembly Study

BlueFloat Energy and Nadara have partnered with Sarens PSG to conduct a groundbreaking study on assembling, load-out, and deploying floating wind turbines in the North Sea.

This study, based at Sarens PSG's Offshore Wind Center in Aberdeen, aims to address challenges in offshore wind deployment, optimizing transportation and foundation installation. The research is crucial for improving project planning, procurement, and risk management strategies. It aligns with BlueFloat’s ongoing efforts in Scotland, including their major wind projects, such as the 1.2-GW Bellrock Wind project.

As David Robertson, UK Portfolio Director for BlueFloat Energy, stressed, “this study will not only deepen our understanding of some of the most pertinent technical challenges facing our industry, but also leverage local expertise through the regional supply chain.”

Company is focused on advancing offshore wind in Scotland making tangible progress with portfolio of projects, including the 1.2-GW Bellrock Wind project, the 900-MWh Broadshore Wind project, and the 1.5-GW Stromar Wind project in collaboration with Ørsted.
