CESC Group Acquires Power Distribution Operations in Chandigarh

The CESC (RP-Sanjiv Goenka) Group has officially acquired the power distribution operations in the Union Territory of Chandigarh. According to recent filings on the stock exchange, CESC Ltd announced that the power distribution activities in Chandigarh, previously managed by Chandigarh Power Distribution Ltd (CPDL), have been transferred to Eminent Electricity Distribution Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CESC Ltd.

As a result of this acquisition, CPDL now becomes a step-down subsidiary of CESC Ltd. This move is a strategic step for CESC Group to expand its footprint in the power distribution sector, further strengthening its position in India’s growing energy market. The acquisition is expected to bring increased operational efficiency and provide CESC Ltd with greater access to the Chandigarh region's growing energy demand. This transition also aligns with CESC’s long-term growth strategy and vision to enhance its distribution network across the country.
