Citizen Solar Signs MoU with Jinchen for 2.4 GW TOPCon Module Facility in Gujarat

Citizen Solar Pvt. Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China-based Jinchen Machinery to supply equipment for a 2.4 GW TOPCon solar module manufacturing plant in Kadi, Gujarat. The agreement was formalized during the SNEC PV Power Expo in Shanghai, signaling Citizen Solar’s strategic move into next-generation solar technology production.

The new facility will produce TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) modules, which are highly efficient and offer superior performance. These advanced modules align with India’s vision to become a global hub for solar manufacturing and energy transition.

The MoU was signed by key leaders from Citizen Solar, including Harsh Jain (CEO), T S Jain (MD), and Ketan Modi (Plant Head). They highlighted that partnering with Jinchen, a global leader in module manufacturing equipment, is a significant step in expanding their technological capabilities and enhancing their domestic and international supply capacity.

The 2.4 GW facility is not only expected to meet growing demand for high-efficiency modules but also create significant job opportunities in Gujarat’s renewable energy sector. This collaboration is seen as a milestone in Citizen Solar’s growth and India’s broader efforts to promote indigenous solar technology manufacturing.
