Coal India Invites Bids for 1,000 MW Solar Project in Rajasthan’s Bikaner Solar Park

Apr 18, 2025

Coal India Limited (CIL) has floated a tender for a 1,000 MW (AC) ground-mounted solar power project on a turnkey basis at Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam’s (RVUNL) 2,000 MW solar park in Bikaner district. The last date to submit bids is May 7, 2025, with opening scheduled for May 8. An earnest money deposit of Rs50 lakh is required.

The tender includes design, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, along with civil works and two years of O&M. The modules must total 1,350 MW in DC capacity, ensuring a minimum CUF of 28%, generating around 2.45 billion units annually, with degradation capped at 0.5% per year. The project must be commissioned within 24 months, or 10% liquidated damages will be imposed on the contract value. Eligible bidders must have built 200 MW (AC) solar projects on a turnkey basis, including at least one 50 MW project operational for six months in the last ten years. Financially, bidders need a minimum turnover of Rs1,443 crore and net worth of Rs481 crore as of March 31, 2024.

This follows CIL’s recent EOIs and tenders under its renewable expansion, including a 40 MW solar project in Madhya Pradesh announced in November 2024.
