Contract Exchange Ceremony for the Landmark KPS2-Nagpur HVDC Project

The contract exchange ceremony for the groundbreaking +/-800kV, 6000 MW KPS2-Nagpur HVDC project was held at the Corporate Centre in Gurugram, marking a significant milestone in India’s power infrastructure development. The event was chaired by Shri R. K. Tyagi, CMD of POWERGRID, and attended by notable industry leaders, including Shri K.S. Murthy, CMD of BHEL; Shri Venu N., CMD of Hitachi Energy; and Shri Rajeev Dalela, President of KPIL.
This transformative project is designed to enhance India’s power transmission capacity by enabling the efficient transfer of 6000 MW of electricity through a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) system. Key benefits include:
