CPI Invites Applications for India Clean Energy Finance Program to Support DRE Projects
Aug 06, 2025
Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) has opened applications for the next round of its India Clean Energy Finance (ICEF) program, aimed at supporting distributed renewable energy (DRE) projects and enterprises. ICEF offers catalytic technical assistance of up to Rs13.07 million to help eligible entities access financial advisory services and mobilize commercial capital.
The program targets startups and businesses working in rooftop solar, e-mobility, solar-powered EV charging, agrivoltaics, green hydrogen, productive mini-grids, sustainable fuels, energy-as-a-service, and renewable energy-based cooling. Applications are open until August 18, 2025, and selected proposals will be announced on August 28, 2025.
To qualify, applicants must be private or public limited companies with legal registration and operational presence in India. They should have recorded at leas Rs87.18 million for project developers, or Rs174.36 million for financial intermediaries, are mandatory.
The ICEF initiative, which proved effective in its first phase by mobilizing over 50 times the capital per dollar of technical support, aligns with growing state-level support for DRE-focused Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPOs) in India.
