Datta Infra Appoints Kapil Sharma as Head – Corporate Affairs

Datta Power Infra Private Limited has named Kapil Sharma as its new Head – Corporate Affairs, effective August 2025. With over 15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, Sharma brings a robust blend of technical know-how and policy expertise from his time with major IPPs and OEMs. In his new role, he will lead regulatory strategy, policy advocacy, project approvals, and engagement with key government and industry stakeholders, aimed at supporting Datta Infra’s renewable energy initiatives.

Welcoming him onboard, MD & CEO Varchasvi Gagal highlighted Sharma’s expertise as vital to advancing India’s clean energy goals and boosting Datta Infra’s operational speed and regulatory alignment. Sharma expressed enthusiasm about joining at a pivotal time in India’s energy transition, especially as the country has surpassed its 500 GW RE target well ahead of 2030.

Sharma’s past roles include leadership positions at Brookfield Renewable, Skeiron Renewable, and Continuum Energy, where he managed business development and regulatory affairs. He started his career at Suzlon Energy, gaining early experience in wind turbine commissioning and compliance.

He holds an MBA in Power Management from NPTI and a B.E. in Electronics & Communication from the University of Rajasthan, equipping him to steer impactful growth for Datta Infra.
