Delta Electronics India Signs 12-Year PPA for 9.6 Million Units of Wind Power, Advancing Industrial Decarbonization

Jun 02, 2025

Delta Electronics India has inked a 12-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to source 9.6 million units of wind power annually from wind farms in Tamil Nadu, marking a significant stride in decarbonizing its operations. Facilitated by Ventus Energy Consultancy, this transition is expected to cut Delta’s carbon emissions by approximately 6,979 metric tons annually by replacing fossil-fuel electricity with renewable wind energy supplied through TANGEDCO’s grid.

The move aligns with Delta’s broader ESG and sustainability commitments, including its adherence to global frameworks like RE100 and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Delta has previously achieved a 39% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions since 2021 and continues to invest in green buildings, net-zero data centers, smart grids, and renewable integration.

Delta’s President, Benjamin Lin, and Managing Director, Niranjan Nayak, highlighted that this agreement exemplifies the company’s long-term strategy to lead by example in India’s green transition. Ventus Energy Consultancy, with extensive expertise in managing over 750 MW of renewable assets, will support Delta’s scaling renewable procurement.

This partnership demonstrates a collaborative, cross-industry model for advancing clean energy solutions, reinforcing India’s national goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel power capacity by 2030 and fostering a resilient, responsible energy ecosystem.
