Jun 21, 2025

The Digital Infrastructure Providers Association (DIPA) and Vodafone Idea (Vi) have announced a strategic partnership to advance sustainable connectivity in India’s telecom sector. The collaboration will prioritize the deployment of green energy solutions, promotion of the Green Energy Open Access (GEOA) policy, and integration of renewable energy into telecom infrastructure.

The alliance aims to establish comprehensive frameworks for environmentally responsible infrastructure development, including clean energy adoption across telecom towers, data centers, and network operations. It also involves the development of industry guidelines and best practices to facilitate the transition to cleaner energy sources.

Manoj Kumar Singh, Director General of DIPA, highlighted the significance of this alliance in accelerating the zero-carbon mission across India’s digital infrastructure. Ambika Khurana, Chief Regulatory and Corporate Affairs Officer at Vi, emphasized the company's commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.

This partnership emerges amid growing digital connectivity demands in both urban and rural India, underlining the importance of environmentally sustainable expansion. By working together, DIPA and Vi seek to transform India’s telecom infrastructure into a resilient and climate-conscious ecosystem aligned with national climate goals.
