Diverse Indian Companies Adopt Solar to Cut Costs and Go Green

Sept 19, 2025

Four companies from very different sectors—Amrit Bottlers, Birla Corporation, Jupiter Wagons, and Raghav Lifestyle—are embracing solar energy to reduce power costs and strengthen sustainability. With installations designed and executed by VSL RE Power, these firms are making clean energy central to their operations.

Amrit Bottlers, a Coca-Cola franchise, has commissioned an 11.25 MW solar project across 25 acres in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The project will save the company about Rs120 million annually, while reducing reliance on conventional electricity. Similarly, Birla Corporation has set up solar systems at its jute and cement facilities—2.1 MW in West Bengal and 5 MW in Maharashtra—helping cut coal dependence and saving between Rs80–100 million per year.

Jupiter Wagons, a railway wagon and component manufacturer, added an 800 kW rooftop solar plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, saving about Rs8 million annually. Lifestyle brand Raghav Lifestyle installed a 1 MW project in Sonipat, Haryana, covering much of its daytime power demand and forecasting annual savings of Rs10 million.

VSL RE Power deployed high-efficiency mono PERC and bifacial TOPCon modules, using both string and central inverters for optimal performance. Despite challenges like soil conditions and logistics, projects were completed with site-specific solutions.

With growing commercial and industrial adoption, solar is no longer just an environmental choice but a smart business decision. This shift will be highlighted at the upcoming C&I Clean Energy Meet in Jaipur on September 19, 2025, where industry stakeholders will share strategies for wider renewable adoption.
