DVC Completes FGD Trial at Koderma Thermal Power Station, Advancing Clean Energy Goals
Mar 31, 2025
Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has successfully completed a 72-hour trial run of the Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) system at Koderma Thermal Power Station (KTPS) Unit #2 (2X500 MW). This milestone ensures that all 500 MW and 600 MW units (totaling 9 units) of DVC are now equipped with operational FGD systems, reinforcing the company's commitment to reducing emissions and promoting cleaner energy generation.
FGD technology plays a critical role in reducing sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions, a key contributor to air pollution. By integrating environmentally friendly solutions, DVC aligns its operations with India’s sustainability goals, supporting the nation’s clean energy transition and improving air quality in power generation regions.
