ENGIE Signs 100 MW Solar PPA with SECI, Expanding Rajasthan Portfolio to 1 GW

Oct 13, 2025

ENGIE India has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a 100 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project located in Barmer, Rajasthan. The project is slated for commissioning in 2027 and will further strengthen ENGIE’s renewable footprint in the state, bringing its total solar portfolio in Rajasthan to approximately 1 GW.

This follows ENGIE India’s recent agreement in September 2025 to supply 300 MW of solar power to NTPC, demonstrating the company’s continued expansion in the utility-scale solar segment. These developments highlight ENGIE’s strategic focus on long-term renewable energy growth and grid-scale solar projects across India.

Earlier in May 2025, ENGIE India achieved financial closure for a 200 MW solar PV project in Khavda, Gujarat, with financial backing provided by MUFG Bank and Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank. These milestones underscore ENGIE’s commitment to strengthening India’s clean energy capacity through both project execution and strategic financial partnerships.

With these initiatives, ENGIE is poised to play a key role in India’s renewable energy transition, expanding its presence in high-potential solar markets and contributing to the country’s climate and sustainability targets.
