Essar Renewables has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to develop 4 GW of renewable energy capacity across the state. The company plans to invest Rs20,000 crore in a mix of solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects located in Kutch, Jamnagar, and Devbhumi Dwarka districts.

The MoU was formalized during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (North Gujarat) held in Mehsana, in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi. Ankur Kumar, CEO of Essar Renewables, represented the company at the signing.

This strategic collaboration aligns with Gujarat’s long-term vision of fostering a green and sustainable energy ecosystem as part of the Viksit Gujarat – Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative.

Essar Renewables, which specializes in solar, wind, and battery storage solutions, has outlined plans to expand its total renewable energy portfolio to over 8 GW within the next five years. The company aims to achieve this growth through technological innovation and strategic partnerships, reinforcing its commitment to India’s clean energy transition.
