Ganesha Ecosphere Installs 5 MW Rooftop Solar Plant to Cut Costs and Boost Sustainability

Aug 21, 2025

Leading plastic recycling company Ganesha Ecosphere has commissioned a 5 MW rooftop solar system at its facility in Telangana, marking a major step toward reducing energy expenses and advancing its sustainability agenda.

The project, executed by Solluz Energy, uses Trina 595 Wp solar modules, Sungrow inverters, and aluminum mounting structures for long-term durability and performance. The installation is expected to generate annual savings of around Rs51.5 million, with an estimated payback period of just 3.5 years.

By offsetting nearly 60,000 kWh of daily power consumption, the solar system will help the company significantly cut its reliance on grid electricity while lowering its carbon footprint.

Ganesha Ecosphere, known for recycling discarded PET bottles into polyester staple fiber, spun yarn, and other materials used in textiles, non-wovens, and fillings, aims to strengthen its position as a sustainable industry leader through this initiative.

The project faced hurdles, including low load availability, lack of net metering, and adverse weather conditions. Solluz Energy overcame these challenges by integrating a PLC-based zero-export device to avoid feeding power into the grid and adopting a phased execution strategy with adaptive scheduling to ensure timely completion.

“Despite challenges such as low site load, absence of net metering, and unfavorable weather, our team implemented innovative solutions like the PLC-based zero export system and phased execution. This enabled us to finish the project on schedule without compromising quality,” said Karan Kalra, CEO of Solluz Energy.

The initiative not only promises financial savings but also underlines Ganesha Ecosphere’s commitment to renewable energy adoption in the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector.
