GEAPP Announces Three Initiatives to Accelerate India's Renewable Energy Transition

The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) has launched a series of key initiatives in collaboration with the International Solar Alliance (ISA) to propel India's clean energy transformation. These initiatives aim to address critical challenges and support India's ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity.

Key Initiatives

• Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF):

  GEAPP and ISA have joined forces to establish a USD 100 million MDTF dedicated to financing high-impact solar energy projects across India. ISA will steer the strategic direction of the fund, ensuring alignment with member countries' solar energy needs. GEAPP will provide governance oversight, fundraising assistance, and leverage its expertise in energy transition planning, financing, and project implementation.

• DUET (Digitalisation of Utilities for Energy Transition):

  This program focuses on digitalizing grid systems to enhance efficiency and facilitate seamless integration of renewable energy sources. DUET will establish a comprehensive technology suite for:
  • Digital recording of all grid assets.
  • Integration with real-time smart sensors for data tracking.
  • Load flow analysis and voltage, current, and phase data monitoring to minimize transmission and distribution losses.

• ENTICE 2.0 (Energy Transitions Innovation Challenge):

  Building upon the success of the initial program launched in 2023, ENTICE 2.0 is designed to identify, nurture, and empower innovative solutions that can accelerate India's clean energy startup ecosystem and support its sustainability goals. This enhanced version will focus on:
  • Identifying and scaling investable clean energy opportunities.
  • Providing access to funding, market linkages, and mentorship for promising ventures.

These collaborative efforts position GEAPP as a key player in India's clean energy transition journey. By facilitating innovation, mobilizing resources, and promoting grid modernization, GEAPP is helping India achieve its renewable energy goals and build a more sustainable future.
