GR Infraprojects Wins Rs3,670 Crore Transmission Projects in Madhya Pradesh
Aug 30, 2025
G R Infraprojects Ltd (GRIL) has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd to develop two large transmission projects in Madhya Pradesh. These projects aim to evacuate renewable power from Rajgarh (1,500 MW, Phase III) and Neemuch (1,000 MW, Phase II) under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route.
The scope includes building a 2x500 MVA, 400/220 kV substation at Handiya, enhancing transformation capacity at Neemuch, and creating new bus sections and line bays for renewable integration. It also covers 400 kV double-circuit transmission lines and installation of reactors at Rajgarh, Pachora, and Handiya.
The projects will be executed on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) model with annual transmission charges of Rs3,670.73 crore and a 35-year O&M period. GRIL must complete the projects within 24 months of acquiring the SPV. This move strengthens GRIL’s presence in the transmission sector and supports India’s mission to integrate renewable energy into the national grid.
