Greaves Electric Mobility (GEML), the electric vehicle arm of Greaves Cotton Ltd., has partnered with Indofast Energy to introduce the Ampere 'Magnus SW.S', an electric two-wheeler equipped with battery-swapping technology. This initiative is aimed at enhancing efficiency for gig economy riders and B2B fleet operators, offering a reliable and cost-effective mobility solution.

Battery-Swapping for Enhanced Efficiency

The Ampere Magnus SW.S leverages Indofast Energy's battery-swapping network, allowing riders to replace depleted batteries with fully charged ones, significantly reducing downtime. This feature is especially beneficial for gig workers covering over 100 km per day, as it eliminates long charging waits and minimizes operational costs.

Technical and Connectivity Features

The Magnus SW.S is equipped with:

  • 2.4 kW motor – Ensures smooth performance even on steep inclines and under heavy loads.
  • 151 kg payload capacity – Ideal for commercial and fleet applications.
  • IoT-enabled connectivity – Improves fleet management and real-time tracking.
Scaling Green Mobility in India

Indofast Energy, a joint venture between Indian Oil and SUN Mobility, aims to make battery swapping the preferred charging method. The company plans to deploy over 50,000 vehicles in the next year through fleet operators and individual driver-owners.

The collaboration aligns with Greaves Electric Mobility’s mission to "Democratize Smart and Sustainable Mobility." By integrating advanced battery-swapping technology, the company is driving eco-friendly last-mile transportation and empowering businesses and gig workers with efficient, affordable mobility solutions.
