Jul 03, 2025
Hartek Group has secured a Rs138 crore EPC contract from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) to develop a 400 kV air-insulated substation (AIS) in Karnataka. This substation will support the integration of renewable energy from Karnataka’s Davanagere, Chitradurga, and Ballari districts, which together hold an estimated 17 GW of renewable energy potential as identified by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
The scope of work includes design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning, all on a turnkey basis. The project aims to enhance regional grid stability, reduce transmission losses, and improve the delivery efficiency of clean energy.
This win adds to Hartek’s growing portfolio. The company has connected over 10 GW of solar power to the national grid and installed 200 MW of rooftop solar capacity. It was also ranked among India’s top utility-scale EPC providers in 2024, per Mercom’s Solar Market Leaderboard 2025. Recent key projects include a Rs470 crore, 300 MW solar project in Rajasthan, an 8 MW rooftop solar installation for Kandhari Beverages in J&K, and a 75 MW solar project with a 132 kV substation in Bihar for SJVN Green Energy.
