Hindustan Power Begins Work on 435 MWp Solar Project in Uttar Pradesh
Jul 09, 2025
Hindustan Power has initiated development of its 435 MWp solar project in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh, with the opening of its project office. This project, awarded under Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd’s (UPPCL) 2,000 MW AC grid-connected solar PV auction, supports the state’s renewable energy goal of reaching 22 GW capacity by 2026–27.
As per the 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA), UPPCL will procure power from the project at a fixed tariff. The project is expected to be commissioned within 24 months from the PPA signing date.
Chairman Ratul Puri highlighted the significance of the project as a major step toward Uttar Pradesh’s clean energy goals and emphasized collaboration with local communities.
Hindustan Power, known for its focus on renewable and transitional energy, continues to strengthen its position as a leading integrated power generation company in India. The Lalitpur solar plant will contribute significantly to the state's decarbonization targets and help meet growing electricity demand sustainably.
