Husk Launches BEEM to Revolutionize Residential Rooftop Solar Market in India

Husk has launched a new fully-owned business named BEEM, aimed at transforming the residential rooftop solar market in India. Leveraging nearly 20 years of experience in solar system design, innovation, and installation, Husk has developed BEEM as a dedicated, homeowner-centric rooftop solar service offering cutting-edge technology and seamless digital experiences.

BEEM simplifies the solar adoption journey through a fully online platform, allowing customers to size their systems, customize usage, and monitor generation data — all remotely. The brand debuts with two solutions, Aura and Eternia, specifically designed for India’s widely prevalent flat roofs. BEEM also provides end-to-end support, including low-cost financing, assistance with government subsidies, and net metering facilitation.

Targeting the initial rollout in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, BEEM is strategically aligned with the Government of India’s PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, which aims to solarize 1 crore homes and install 30 GW of capacity by 2027. The scheme offers homeowners up to 300kWh of free monthly power, low-interest loans without credit score requirements, and a simplified 15-day application process.

BEEM’s Chief Commercial Officer, Anubha Shukla, emphasized the service's ability to overcome the sector’s longstanding challenges — such as high upfront costs, fragmented supplier networks, and product complexity — through speed, structure, and scale. Husk CEO Manoj Sinha highlighted BEEM’s AI-powered digital platform as a transformative tool, likening it to the iPhone's impact on mobile commerce. Looking forward, Husk aims to integrate BEEM into the evolution of India’s energy ecosystem by enabling virtual power plants (VPPs), allowing households to become active participants in energy production and trading.
