Husk Power Plans IPO in 2027, Aims for 50,000 Rooftop Solar Units by 2027
Jul 04, 2025
Husk Power Systems, the world’s largest mini-grid operator, is gearing up for a major expansion, targeting a 2027 IPO and rapid growth in rooftop solar installations. The company, with around 400 operational mini-grids across India, South Asia, and Africa, plans to double its capacity in 2025 by installing 150 new mini-grids, primarily in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
In line with India’s PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Husk launched its residential solar division, BEEM, aiming to become the largest rooftop solar player in the country. It targets 1,000 rooftop installations by the end of 2025, 10,000 in 2026, and a cumulative 50,000 units by 2027. Expansion plans also include new operations in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and further international growth into countries like Congo and Zambia.
The company is also preparing to raise $400 million in Series G funding, with $10–20 million allocated to BEEM over 2025–26. Husk continues to focus on integrated mini-grids and metro-grid solutions for industrial and residential customers. Despite supply chain challenges due to geopolitical instability, Husk remains committed to providing comprehensive energy services across India and Africa.
