May 21, 2025
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, convened a High-Level Roundtable on Policy and Regulations on May 20, 2025, during the World Hydrogen Summit (WHS) in Rotterdam. The event brought together top Indian and European Union stakeholders to advance regulatory alignment and cross-border collaboration in the Green Hydrogen sector.
The discussions focused on several key areas: mutual recognition of certification schemes, harmonization of policy frameworks, and the development of cross-border trade mechanisms for Green Hydrogen and its derivatives. The roundtable also emphasized identifying suitable financing instruments to enhance the export readiness of Indian Green Hydrogen products, supporting the broader goal of creating a globally integrated clean hydrogen economy.
The roundtable reflects India’s proactive role in shaping international cooperation in the hydrogen sector, particularly as the country scales up production and aims to become a key exporter of Green Hydrogen and ammonia in alignment with its National Green Hydrogen Mission.
