Indofast Energy, India’s leading battery-swapping solutions provider, has reached a major milestone by commissioning its 1,000th battery swap station at Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus. This achievement marks the fastest rollout of EV charging infrastructure of its kind in the country. The company’s network now spans 10 states and 22 cities, enabling over 39 million battery swaps that have powered 50,000+ EVs to collectively travel 1.06 billion kilometres. This has already helped avoid nearly 55,000 metric tonnes of CO? emissions, strengthening India’s push for greener mobility.

Delhi NCR leads the network with 332 swap stations, followed by Bengaluru (259) and Hyderabad (124). The infrastructure has proven especially vital for last-mile delivery fleets, where two-wheeler EVs dominate. With just a two-minute swap time, riders save downtime, complete more deliveries, and increase earnings, while fleet operators cut operational costs.

CEO Anant Badjatya highlighted Indofast’s commitment to making EV adoption practical and eco-friendly through its Battery-as-a-Service model, eliminating range anxiety and charging delays. Currently supporting 78,000 livelihoods, the company partners with EV makers like Zypp, Omega Seiki Mobility, and Shadowfax, along with infrastructure allies including IOCL, Indian Railways, BESCOM, and MMRC.

Looking forward, Indofast aims to scale up to 2,750 stations and 1.5 lakh EVs by March 2026, and expand into Chennai, Mumbai, Jaipur, Pune, and Agra. Its long-term roadmap targets 10,000 swapping points across 40+ cities within three years, making swappable EVs a mainstream, cost-effective mobility solution in India.
