INOX India Launches Nation’s First UHP Ammonia ISO Tank to Boost Semiconductor & Solar Ecosystem
Jun 13, 2025
INOX India Limited has launched India's first ultra-high-purity (UHP) ammonia T-50 ISO tank container, a significant innovation aimed at enhancing the semiconductor and solar manufacturing ecosystem globally. Designed and built entirely in India, the tank meets stringent international standards, including ASME Sec VIII, Div-1 (U stamp), and offers exceptional performance in purity-sensitive environments.
The ISO tank features a highly polished internal finish with a surface roughness below 0.3 RA and orbital-welded piping to ensure minimal contamination—crucial for UHP ammonia handling. Its advanced rock wool insulation, stainless-steel cladding, and spring-actuated emergency shut-off mechanism further ensure operational safety, thermal efficiency, and remote safety control.
Deepak Acharya, CEO of INOX India, emphasized the company’s role in reducing import dependence and strengthening supply chains for critical equipment in the semiconductor and solar panel sectors. The tank’s certifications, including UN Portable Tank T-50, ADR, RID, ISO 1496-3, CSC, US-DOT, and IMDG, position it as export-ready and capable of seamless multimodal transport—via rail, road, and sea.
This development marks a milestone in India’s engineering capabilities and industrial self-reliance, contributing meaningfully to high-tech manufacturing infrastructure and supporting global supply chains for ultra-high-purity gases.
