Jakson Green Wins SECI Auction for 85,000 TPA Green Ammonia Supply
Aug 19, 2025
Jakson Green has secured the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction to supply 85,000 tons per annum (TPA) of green ammonia under the SIGHT program (Mode-2A-Tranche-I). The company quoted a winning tariff of Rs 50.75 (~$0.58)/kg, lower than NTPC’s earlier discovered tariff of Rs 51.8 (~$0.591)/kg. The green ammonia will be supplied to Coromandel International in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.
The tender, initially floated in June 2024, was later amended to expand the project capacity from 539,000 TPA to 739,000 TPA. As per the agreement, Jakson must establish production facilities, secure necessary approvals, manage land acquisition, and ensure storage and logistics up to the delivery point. The company is also required to supply at least 90% of the contracted annual requirement and is restricted from trading or arbitrage of green ammonia.
The green ammonia can be produced using renewable energy sourced from either co-located or remotely located projects, owned by Jakson or third parties, or procured from power exchanges. This auction adds to SECI’s recent momentum, with Onix Renewable, SCC Infrastructure-InSolare consortium, and Oriana Power also winning bids for supplying 50,000 TPA, 70,000 TPA, and 60,000 TPA of green ammonia respectively, at tariffs between Rs 52.25 and Rs 53.05 per kg.
