JBMG Secures 3 GWh BESS Orders, Aims to Boost Grid Flexibility and RE Integration

Jun 05, 2025

JBM Green Energy Systems (JBMG), the lithium-ion battery division of JBM Auto, has announced an impressive 3 GWh orderbook for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects across India. This includes a notable 1 GWh deployment for SJVN, among other clients. JBMG’s rapid growth is fueled by its decade-long expertise in green mobility, intelligent energy management, and scalable battery solutions.

The company is catering to a diverse range of clients—from EVs (2W, 3W, commercial, and passenger vehicles) to utility-scale BESS applications including mini-grids and multi-gigawatt storage. Its grid-integrated systems promise fast response times, high round-trip efficiency, and compatibility with solar assets, supporting key services such as frequency regulation, energy time-shifting, and peak shaving.

Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman and MD of JBM Auto, emphasized the critical role of BESS in India’s journey toward its 500 GW renewable energy target by 2030. He highlighted JBMG’s strong track record in battery and storage technology innovation and its commitment to rapid deployment through world-class technology and partnerships.

JBMG operates India’s largest high-voltage lithium-ion battery facility in Delhi-NCR, with an annual capacity of 6 GWh. The company’s integrated offerings span design, testing, and deployment of lithium-ion solutions for EVs and standalone energy storage projects, reinforcing its role in building a clean, reliable, and flexible power grid.
