Juniper Green, Tata Power, ACME Win 250 MW Dispatchable RE Auction

Aug 20, 2025

Tata Power Delhi Distribution has successfully concluded its auction for 250 MW of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE), aimed at ensuring round-the-clock green power supply. The winning developers include Tata Power Renewable Energy, Juniper Green Energy, ACME Solar Holdings, and Navayuga Engineering Company.

All awarded projects will be developed under a build-own-operate model and must include energy storage systems (ESS) charged exclusively by renewable energy sources like solar and wind. This requirement is intended to overcome intermittency challenges and provide reliable, dispatchable renewable energy to the grid.

In terms of results, Tata Power Renewable Energy secured the largest allocation of 80 MW at a tariff of Rs4.77/kWh. Juniper Green Energy won 70 MW, while both Navayuga Engineering and ACME Solar secured 50 MW each, quoting slightly lower tariffs of Rs4.76/kWh.

The developers will enter into 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Tata Power Delhi Distribution, ensuring long-term revenue visibility and stable supply for consumers.

This auction highlights India’s growing focus on storage-integrated renewable energy, which is crucial for balancing demand and supply, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, and strengthening grid reliability as renewable penetration continues to increase.
