Jupiter International to Set Up Rs109 Billion Solar Manufacturing Facility in Nagpur
Aug 25, 2025
Jupiter International Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government to set up a large, vertically integrated solar manufacturing facility at Butibori, Nagpur. This ambitious project involves an investment of around Rs109 billion and will cover the complete solar value chain, including wafer manufacturing, advanced solar cell production, and solar module manufacturing.
The move underlines Jupiter International’s commitment to strengthening India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem and reducing dependence on imports by creating an end-to-end production base within the country.
This development follows the company’s recent efforts to secure funding and expand capacity. In April 2025, Jupiter International raised ?5 billion from ValueQuest SCALE Fund and its affiliates to support its solar manufacturing growth plans.
Earlier, in January 2025, the company also signed an MoU with the Government of Odisha to set up a photovoltaic solar cell and module manufacturing unit in Khordha, further expanding its footprint in the Indian renewable energy manufacturing sector.
With these strategic projects, Jupiter International is positioning itself as a key contributor to India’s solar manufacturing capacity and self-reliance goals, aligning with the government’s broader vision of energy transition.
