Justdial Reports 173% Surge in Solar Panel Dealer Searches Across India

Local search platform Justdial has reported a sharp rise in consumer interest for solar panel dealers and cleaning services between April–June 2025 (AMJ’25), compared to both the previous quarter (Jan–March 2025) and the same period last year (AMJ’24).

According to the data, nationwide searches for solar panel dealers increased 173% year-on-year and 77% quarter-on-quarter. Among cities, Delhi and Patna led the surge, with Delhi recording an 11-fold jump YoY, while Patna witnessed a 19-fold increase compared to the previous quarter. Chennai and Hyderabad searches were five times higher YoY, with Hyderabad also showing a 130% QoQ rise.

In central India, Indore saw a 197% YoY spike, with searches tripling over the previous quarter. Other cities including Jaipur, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Lucknow also registered strong growth.

Alongside installation demand, solar panel cleaning services witnessed a 100% YoY jump nationwide, signaling rising awareness of efficiency and long-term maintenance. Delhi (+92%), Lucknow (+77%), Ahmedabad (+63%), and Vadodara (+43%) were among the top markets driving this trend.

The surge comes as India celebrates a major milestone in renewable energy manufacturing, reaching 100 GW of domestic solar PV module capacity in 2025, up from just 2.3 GW in 2014. This growth has been propelled by government initiatives, particularly the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, which has positioned India as a global leader in solar manufacturing.
